Flowers are an essential element for a wedding, no matter what time of the year. Summer, in particular, offers brides a wide array of options. This season is bursting with gorgeous flowers that are full of color and texture. Take your cue from Mather Nature when you’re creating your wedding floral arrangements and incorporate blooms that are in season.
Hydrangeas, sunflowers, roses, peonies and daisies are just some of the flowers that are in bloom at this time of the year. From the bouquets to the centerpieces, use flowers that call to mind the summer season.
Beach-Inspired Seating Cards
What’s one of the first things that comes to mind when you think of the summer? – The beach! No wonder so many summer brides use a beach theme for their weddings.
Whether you’re having a full-blown beach-inspired wedding or you just want to add a few beachy touches, seashell seating cards are a simple, tasteful decorative accent. If you’re lucky enough to live near the beach, you could collect the shells yourself; if not, you can easily order them from an online shop or purchase them at a craft store. If your shells are small, you could affix them to a paper seating card, or if they’re on the larger side, you could write the names of your guests and their numbers write on the shells.
A Vibrant Color Scheme
Summer is all about bold, bright and vibrant colors. Tangerine, turquoise, fuchsia and sunny yellow are just some of the hues that would work wonderfully for a summer wedding.
Just a word of caution, however: try not to overdo the vibrant colors, as they may be too overwhelming. Instead, use them as accents; fuchsia sashes along the backs of chairs, tangerine overlays on the tables or a turquoise aisle runner would all make a stunning impact without being tacky.

Citrus fruits, such as oranges, lemons, limes and grapefruits are readily available during the summer season. You could easily use these colorful fruits to create stunning centerpieces. Slice them up and float them in water in a clear vase to use as the base of a floral arrangement, or go super simple and fill up clear bowls with the citrus fruit of your choice, place them in the centers of the tables and surround them with tea lights.
